PAGCOR unveils the stage for "FLOW"

PAGCOR- Flow ShowPAGCOR- Flow ShowAFTER the phenomenal success of Wanders, the musical-acrobatic show produced by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) the state-run gaming firm once again unveiled another breakthrough in Philippine entertainment.

Launched on March 1, 2009, the show, entitled “Flow,” is PAGCOR’s second foray into world-class theatrical productions. Conceptualized by the creative minds behind Wanders, it also features the elements of theater, music and acrobatics. But the real highlight of this extravagant performance, according to PAGCOR Chairman Efraim C. Genuino, is the unfolding story of “Dance,” a graceful creature with an adventurous character who explores the mystery and stages of life through dance and movement.

“Flow showcases breathtaking dance performances – from tribal dances, hip-hop, ballet, flamenco, modern, jazz, tap, tango – the show was crafted in such as way that every movement, every ritual becomes a reflection of life in various rhythms and forms,” the PAGCOR chief said.

Genuino expressed optimism that similar to Wanders, which earned the status of being the best musical-acrobatic show in Asia, “Flow will soon be the most sought-after dance performance in the Philippines, and most probably, in Asia as well.”

Top echelons of society, political leaders, ambassadors and other prominent personalities such as former First Lady Imelda Marcos watched the show’s gala night held recently at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Parañaque City.

According to Director Bong Quintana, Flow was conceptualized by the PAGCOR Chairman in a bid to highlight dance as a cultural expression as well as a form of art and world-class entertainment.

Apart from the lineup of captivating dances, Flow consists of 150 performers that include dancers from Cuba and new Chinese acrobats from the school of Zhengzhou in Henan province.

Quintana added that while most of these foreign performers are recognized in their own rights, Flow is also another venue for Filipinos to showcase their talents. Among the top-caliber artists who added life to Flow are singers Pinky Marquez, Carla Guevara, Star-in-a-Million finalist OJ Mariano, and other famous dance groups in the country such as the Maneuvers, Whiplash and Hotlegs.

“Despite the positive feedback on Flow, we are going to add more segments and surprises in the upcoming shows to make this production truly world-class, as envisioned by Chairman Genuino” Quintana said.

Here is a short message from the PAGCOR Chairman Efraim C. Genuino

PAGCOR Chairman"In 2007, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) boldly embraced a dramatic shift – from mere casino gaming, we opened the doors of the PAGCOR Grand Theater to Wanders, a world-class spectacle that has left many hearts captivated.

Wanders’ phenomenal success inspired us to produce an equally superb production that features both local and foreign talents at their best. With this, I am deeply honored to present Flow, another breakthrough in Philippine entertainment.

Flow is a celebration of the stages, mystery and surprises of life as depicted through music and dance. From tribal dances to hip-hop, from ballet to flamenco, from modern dances to tango – every movement, every ritual is an unfolding story of birth, struggle, love and passion. Every step is a depiction of life in various rhythms and forms.

Just as Wanders earned the reputation of being the best musical-acrobatic show in Asia, I am optimistic that Flow will soon be the most sought-after dance performance in the Philippines, and most probably, in Asia.

It is my hope that the more Filipinos will get a chance to watch world-class feats such as this. As an industry that upholds Filipino artists, PAGCOR is committed to create more shows that will serve as venues for local talents to perform with international artists and showcase their talents to the rest of the world."
