PGMA-SERBISYO MUNA Caravan Highligths TESDA

PGMA-SERBISYO MUNA Caravan Highligths TESDASEVERAL key line government agencies, led by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), joined the 14th anniversary celebration of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority recently by holding a People’s Government Mobile Action (PGMA)-Serbisyo Muna Caravan at the TESDA Complex in Taguig City.

Hundreds of residents from nearby communities crowded the caravan venue to avail of free medical and dental consultations provided by volunteers from PAGCOR, the Department of Health (DoH), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and City Health Office (CHO).

Taguig Mayor Freddie Tinga and Vice Mayor George Elias were on hand to witness the program, which was highlighted by a host of other basic services such as free Electrocardiogram (ECG) test, free local and overseas calls, free legal consultations, on-site processing of NBI clearance, driving license and Civil Registry documents and acceptance of Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG membership applications, among others.

“The people of Taguig would like to thank PAGCOR and the other government agencies for taking part in TESDA’s anniversary celebration by bringing the President’s PGMA-Serbisyo Muna Caravan to our city.  Hindi lamang kayo nakaisa ng TESDA sa pagdiriwang ng kanilang kaarawan, napaglingkuran n’yo pa ang marami naming kababayan dito,” Mayor Tinga said during a brief opening rites graced by PAGCOR and TESDA officials.

Meanwhile, PAGCOR Chairman Efraim Genuino said the Taguig caravan was the first to be held within Metro Manila this year as the state-run gaming firm sets its sights on bringing the PGMA-Serbisyo Muna program to other parts of the country, particularly the far-flung provinces.

The other agencies that participated in the caravan were the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Land Transportation Office (LTO), National Statistics Office (NSO), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), Office of Transport Cooperatives (OTC), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), Professional Regulations Commission (PRC), Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), Maynilad Water Company, Inc. (MWCI), National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO).
