The Holy Family Foundation was officially opened in 1990 as a temporary shelter for the street children of Bacolod City. It is managed by the Capuchin Tertiary Sisters of the Holy Family, a Franciscan Congregation founded in Spain in 1885 by Fr. Luis Y. Ferrer, an OFM Capuchin Friar and Bishop. The Congregation arrived in the Philippines in March 1982.
