Day 10 - Holy Infant Nursery Foundation, Inc.

December 4, 2011

The Holy Infant Nursery Foundation was established in January 1973 and was integrated into the Bacolod Youth Residences Program of the Police Advisory Council (PAC) of Bacolod on June 1, 1974. In October 1975, Bacolod City Lion's Club President Luis Lizares, who was an active member of the Bacolod PAC, together with some civic-minded individuals, constructed a building on the lots of the families of Vicente Gustillo and Raul Torres.

On September 18, 1978, the Bacolod City Council passed a resolution approving the establishment of the Holy Infant Nursery. The foundation caters to the needs of orphaned, abandoned and destitute children up to six years old. The nursery was registered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in March 2003 and was granted a license to operate under the category of Residential and Child Placing on May 13, 2003.
