Day 12 - Manila Boys Town Complex
December 6, 2011
The Manila Boy's Town Complex is a sprawling 23-hectare facility in Parang, Marikina operated by the City Government of Manila. It was established in 1949 and started as a residential cere center for Manila's underserved male children who are eight to 16 years old. It later opened its doors to female juveniles and elderly people as the demand for more institutions that will cater to the needs of these individuals increased.
The institution has been providing residential care to Manila's male and female juveniles and underprivileged and/ or abandoned senior citizens through separate facilities. The male and female wards are allowed to stay at the complex until they finish high school.
