After a month-long nationwide search for the most beautiful, talented, and intelligent Filipina with a heart for service, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) recently crowned 18-year old Catrine Rosary Ocampo as its first Miss Casino Filipino.
Ocampo, a 5’ 8” stunner from Quezon City, will not only be PAGCOR’s ambassadress in all its socio-civic projects but will also represent the Philippines in the Queen of the World beauty pageant in Germany this year.
The Miss Casino Filipino 2011 grand winner impressed the board of judges and the crowd with her poise and confidence during the Grand Coronation Night held last Saturday night (September 3) at the PAGCOR Grand Theatre, Airport Casino Filipino in Parañaque City.
Ocampo, who chose the promotion of education as her advocacy for the contest, bested 28 other candidates representing the Casino Filipino branches in Metro Manila as well as the provincial branches in Tagaytay, Olongapo, Angeles, Bacolod, Cebu and Davao.
“It is a great honor to be crowned as the first Miss Casino Filipino. I am thankful that Casino Filipino gave me this opportunity. I will not only wear the crown on my head but also in my heart. It will be my pleasure to serve the community and promote my advocacy for education,” says Ocampo.
According to Ocampo, she has been part of community service in the past that reached out to underprivileged children. She witnessed how they strived to get quality education. “I am strongly determined to help them and I would not want to die knowing that I haven’t made a difference,” she noted.
As the grand winner, Ocampo received P300,000 in cash. PAGCOR will also help her chosen charitable institution through in-kind donation.
Also named runners-up to Ocampo were Glennifer Perido of Laguna (1st), Maureen Morales of Zamboanga del Norte (2nd), Katherine Dominique Lagrimas of Bicol (3rd), and Reina Cuneta of Makati City (4th).

“But to become a beauty queen, one must possess poise, confidence and must able to carry herself well while on-stage. That’s how we chose the winners,” Flores added.
