The PAGCOR Board, officers, and staff join the Philippine nation in congratulating the newly proclaimed President, Benigno Simeon Aquino III.

The only son of highly revered Benigno Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino, “Noynoy” becomes the 15th President of the Philippine Republic after a historic win in the country’s first automated elections last May 10, 2010.

He was formally proclaimed on June 9, 2010 by the joint house of Congress, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers for President and Vice President. Joining him as Vice President is Jejomar “Jojo” Binay, the outgoing Mayor and seasoned public servant of Makati City for more than 20 years.

A graduate of Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Economics from Ateneo de Manila University, he succeeds his former teacher, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
