PAGCOR TO GIVE AWAY P12.4M in “SHOWER OF MILLIONS BINGO”

PAGCOR's Shower of Millions BingoThe Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) will be giving away P12.4-M total cash prize during its “Shower of Millions Bingo” event on June 12 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The event, touted as the grandest bingo event in the country, will also be the first time that PAGCOR will stage its first nationwide electronically-linked bingo games.

PAGCOR Assistant Vice President for Bingo Eduardo Lagman said this is the first time in history that PAGCOR will simultaneously conduct bingo in all Casino Filipino branches through the use of hi-tech communication equipment and videoconferencing technology.

“We hope this innovation will enhance the gaming experience of bingo enthusiasts all over the country. Apart from the huge number of expected participants nationwide, this is the first time that such a big amount will be at stake in a single bingo event," Lagman added.

For a ticket worth P3, 000, a player is entitled to participate in ten games. One million peso worth of prizes will be given away for each game in Games 1 to 9 while a whopping P2 million awaits the lucky winner in Game 10.

Lagman added that additional cash prizes for Game 5 also await lucky winners. “Players from provincial branches can vie for the P150,000 guaranteed prize per Casino Filipino branch while P500,000 will be awarded to a lucky winner playing at the World Trade Center,” he said.

To ensure the accuracy of results during the e-linked bingo session, PAGCOR tapped the services of an American firm to provide technical assistance, video conferencing equipment and state-of-the-art communication technology during the event. Meanwhile, bingo personnel and volunteers from Casino Filipino branches in Metro Manila, Tagaytay, Angeles, Olongapo, Cebu, Bacolod and Davao and Corporate personnel will all be involved for the successful conduct of the event.

"We can consider this event as the biggest so far in the history of bingo gaming in the country," said Joven Floren, Assistant Manager of the PAGCOR’s Bingo Department. "We are contemplating a bigger and grander event in December this year," he added.

Apart from table games, PAGCOR’s Casino Filipino branches nationwide regularly hold Bingo sessions on a daily, bi-weekly or monthly or basis. Charity Bingo Sessions are also done quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
