The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) on Friday, February 28, 2025, hosted an inspiring photography session for enthusiasts from Arellano University in Manila to help enhance the students' skills in visual storytelling and image composition.
Renowned photographer and Philippine Center for Creative Imaging founding president Jun Miranda led the session and shared valuable insights on photography fundamentals, composition, lighting techniques and the power of visual storytelling.
After his lecture, Miranda encouraged students to apply their newfound knowledge by participating in the PAGCOR Photography Contest 2025 which has the theme, "Infrastructure for Economic Development."
“I hope that through the knowledge you’ve gained from this session, you’ll be able to come up with remarkable photos that will have a chance of winning in the PAGCOR photography contest,” Miranda said.
PAGCOR’s photo competition this year highlights the crucial role of infrastructure in national progress by showcasing the impact of transportation hubs, bridges, energy facilities, and public structures on economic growth and everyday life.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco emphasized the importance of engaging the youth in visual arts and advocacy through photography.
“Our photography contest this year serves as a platform for aspiring photographers to tell stories of growth and transformation,” he said. “Through their lenses, they can capture the vital role of infrastructure in improving lives and fostering economic development.”
The nationwide PAGCOR Photography Contest 2025 is open to both amateur and professional photographers aged 16 and above.
