Casino Filipino proudly presents the PAGCOR 5 in a three-week nationwide concert tour from October 4 to 28, 2011.
The group, composed of OPM@PAGCOR grand winner Joyce Tañaña, 2nd placer Charles Kevin Tan, 3rd placer Renz Ruther Robosa and grand finalists Hadasa Camporaso and Steve Fernandez, will pay tribute to Original Pilipino Music when they perform at the different Casino Filipino branches.
Their nationwide tour starts at the Casino Filipino Heritage branch on October 4, to be followed by performances in Casino Filipino Hyatt Manila (October 7), Casino Filipino Tagaytay (October 9), Casino Filipino Pavilion (October 14), Airport Casino Filipino (October 21), Casino Filipino Angeles (October 25), Casino Filipino Cebu (October 27), and Casino Filipino Davao (October 28).
This is the first time that the PAGCOR 5 will be performing together after several successful solo shows in various Casino Filipino branches.
“This is going to be really exciting and challenging because unlike a solo performance, singing with a group requires a different skill. Your voice should blend with the other members of the group. Teamwork is very important in coming up with a great show,” Joyce Tañaña said.
Hadasa Camporaso from Bacolod said apart from the fun that comes with performing as a group, they get to learn from each other as well. “Performing with them is also a learning experience because we get insights from each other,” she said.
“It will be a different kind of fun. Ang saya nilang kasama. I am so happy to perform with them in this concert tour,” Steve Fernandez, one of the finalists from Davao said.
According to PAGCOR Assistant Vice President for Entertainment Bong Quintana, the OPM@PAGCOR nationwide talent search did not only provide opportunities for young vocalists but also managed to change the general public’s perception of “casino”.
“The word “casino” always had a negative connotation. With joint efforts of different PAGCOR corporate departments and Casino Filipino branches, we are slowly introducing “casino” as a venue for different entertainment offerings and corporate social responsibility projects,” Quintana said.
The Entertainment head added that the nationwide Casino Filipino tour is PAGCOR’s way of informing the entertainment industry that the organization is also into talent development. “This is good news for young hopefuls out there who wish to jumpstart their music career.”
Through the PAGCOR 5’s concert tour, OPM@PAGCOR gives promising amateur singers in the country a golden opportunity to shine.
“PAGCOR has helped my singing career a lot. It helped us enhance our talent and gave us the opportunity to showcase it,” said Tañaña.
Renz Ruther Robosa from Pangasinan, meanwhile shared how PAGCOR gave him the chance to pursue his dreams even at a young age. “I feel so blessed because at my age, I’ve experienced what most aspiring young singers have always wanted – which is to be given a break.”
The PAGCOR 5 guaranteed that their audiences will have a great time watching them perform in their nationwide tour. “I’m so thrilled to finally go on tour. I look forward to see the audience become energized after they watch our show. We have a lot of surprises in store for them,” said Charles Kevin Tan.
