THE Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) demonstrated yet again its appreciation to individuals leading the tough battle against COVID-19 by distributing comfort food recently to healthcare frontliners through the contributions of Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo and PAGCOR’s executive committee members.
Beneficiaries of PAGCOR’s food donation were the personnel from hospitals in the National Capital Region (NCR) like the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP), Philippine Heart Center (PHC), East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC), Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC), Novaliches District Hospital (NDH), UP-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), Ospital ng Parañaque, Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH), Jose Reyes Medical Center (JRMC), San Lazaro Hospital (SLH) and Ospital ng Sampaloc.
Donna Rose Martinez, a nutritionist and dietician at UP-PGH, said the state-run gaming firm’s simple act of generosity inspires healthcare frontliners like her to overcome the challenges that confront them in battling the deadly disease.
“We thank PAGCOR so much for remembering us. It really warms our hearts to know that our hard work and sacrifices are being recognized and appreciated,” she expressed.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo said the task being performed by the medical workers in saving lives from the claws of COVID-19 should never go unnoticed, and rewarding them for their efforts aids in boosting their morale.
"We truly appreciate your hard work and sacrifices. We continually pray for you and your families' good health and safety," she said.
Thousands more healthcare frontliners are expected to benefit from PAGCOR’s food distribution activity as volunteers from the agency are set to visit other hospitals around Metro Manila in the coming days.
