PAGCOR joined the nation in commemorating the 126th anniversary of Philippine Independence

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) joined the nation in commemorating the 126th anniversary of Philippine Independence at Rizal Park in Manila Wednesday.

The PAGCOR contingent, headed by Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco and President and COO Atty. Wilma T. Eisma, joined the “Parada ng Kalayaan 2024” which showcased 22 floats from various provinces and national government agencies.

Each intricately designed float depicted significant events in history that led to Philippine independence.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., who led the Independence Day program, was joined by heads of various government agencies and some members of the diplomatic community at the Quirino Grandstand.

Prior to the afternoon parade, President Marcos also led the flag-raising and wreath laying ceremonies at the monument of national hero Jose Rizal in the morning.

The 126th Independence Day celebrations started June 10 with festival-type attractions that were open to the public. Among the featured activities were concerts, sports events, film showing, cooking show, chili-eating contest, food fair and bazaars for local products.
