After a series of grueling nationwide screenings, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) finally named the winners in the first-ever Tanghalan ng Kampeon sa Casino Filipino 2019.”
Of the 13 grand finalists from various Casino Filipino (CF) venues, 18-year-old Lhean Khen Lobaton, who represented CF Bacolod, captured the hearts of the judges during the grand finals night held in CF Manila Bay on June 20, 2019.
While Lobaton believed that the 12 other grand finalists are equally talented, the Psychology student from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod was thankful that PAGCOR gave her a chance to shine and showcase her singing talent.
As the grand winner, Lobaton brought home P300,000 cash prize. Meanwhile, the other competition winners were 26-year-old Jessel Lambino of CF Angeles (2nd place) and 20-year-old Dianne Ferlyn Bautista of Malabon Satellite (3rd place). They received P200,000 and P100,000, respectively.
Lambino and Bautista, who are both educators, also proved that their love for music can never be hindered even by having a demanding profession such as teaching.
The competition jurors include PAGCOR officials and musicians Director Gabriel Claudio and Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility Group Jimmy Bondoc, and celebrity performers Luke Mejares, Jason Fernandez and Liezel Garcia.
“I wish to congratulate all contestants. Magaling lahat talaga. Nahirapan kami, sa totoo talaga. At ‘nung kumanta si Miss Lobaton na taga-Bacolod, wala na... I would like to thank PAGCOR for organizing this event which supports Filipino talents. Hindi lang y’ung mga nasa Manila but all over the country. Thank you for having me,” cited Mejares.
