Miss Casino Filipino finalists (from left) Christine Mortel, Nadine Karla de Roxas and Shenna Hernandez were named Casino Filipino Tagaytay’s representatives to the nationwide search for Miss Casino Filipino 2011. The beauty search ends during the Grand Coronation Night on September 3, 2011 at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Airport Casino Filipino in Paranaque City.

Twenty four - year old Shenna Hernandez didn’t expect to stand out in a crowd of beautiful women during the qualifying round of the Miss Casino Filipino 2011 at the Casino Filipino Tagaytay last August 13.

"Everyone is beautiful," said the Tourism student who came all the way from Tacloban City to participate in the screening for the Miss Casino Filipino 2011. Hernandez’s efforts paid off when she was chosen as one of the three representatives of Casino Filipino Tagaytay to the nationwide search of Miss Casino Filipino 2011. Coronation night will be held at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Airport Casino Filipino, Paranaque City on September 3.

The two other winners who will represent the Tagaytay branch are 18-year old accountancy student Christine Mortel and 20-year old model and singer Nadine Karla de Roxas.

"I'm so grateful that I made it to the final three," said Hernandez. She shared that she had a tough time going to the screening venue. "Nasiraan kami sa may bandang Silang, Cavite," recalled Hernandez. Apart from making it to the top three, Hernandez was overwhelmed with joy when she bagged all three special awards, including Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown and Best in Talent.

Hernandez said she could have joined the previous screenings which were held closer to her hometown but she had prior commitments. Being an advocate of youth empowerment, Hernandez said she wanted to take the opportunity to strengthen the campaign for youth development. “With the help of big institutions like the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, I believe that empowering the younger generation to take part in building a better nation will not be impossible.”

Meanwhile, Mortel and de Roxas opted to campaign for environmental conservation. "I specifically want to help put an end to the mining activities in Palawan as this country's tourism venue aims to be one of World's Seven Wonders,” said Mortel.

De Roxas, whose advocacy is also centered on environmental preservation, emphasized the importance of the three simple rules to help the environment: to reduce, reuse and recycle. De Roxas, who was a former candidate in the 2010 Miss Earth-Philippines, said the Miss Casino Filipino pageant is different from other beauty competitions because it offers candidates a wider scope of advocacies to choose from.

Meanwhile, Casino Filipino Tagaytay General Manager Dario Cordero expressed his support for the pageant. “I would like to congratulate PAGCOR’s Entertainment Department Assistant VP Bong Quintana for conceptualizing the unique Miss Casino Filipino competition," said Cordero. The branch official said the three candidates can expect full support from Casino Filipino Tagaytay.

AVP Bong Quintana, on the other hand, made an official announcement that the winner of the Miss Casino Filipino will have the privilege to represent the Philippines in the Queen of the World 2011, an international pageant to be held in Germany in October 2011.

“The first ever Miss Casino Filipino will immediately undergo training in her preparation for the Queen of the World 2011 beauty pageant. This undertaking can bring pride to the corporation as its chosen ambassadress will be given the chance to showcase to the whole world the country’s great beauty and culture,” Quintana said.
